You will be greeted at the desk by one of the receptionists and directed to the Outpatients Department.  Please complete your registration form so that the Clinic has all your updated details including your contact details, GP practice details and any Private Health Insurance details.  This will ensure that we can contact you and can send a clinic letter to your GP practice following the consultation.

The appointment can last anything between 30 minutes and an hour.  You may need additional tests before or during your consultation including Biometry (calculations of lens power for cataract surgery) and Visual Fields assessment.  If you need medication, you can get these at the Outpatients Pharmacy located immediately opposite the Outpatients Waiting Area.

In some cases, drops will need to be put into your eyes to dilate the pupils.  This process takes approximately 20 minutes, and the effect lasts about three hours.  If in doubt, please ensure you have someone who can drive you to and from your appointment.
